In this, Team India captain Virat Kohli will not interfere in it. The BCCI has kept the last date for sending the application for the post of coach on July 30. The final decision on the coach will be taken by the Committee of Administrators (COA), Steering Committee and Kapildev Committee formed by the Supreme Court. Ravi Shastri was made the coach of Team India in 2017.

Last time Kohli had allegedly interfered in making the coach a coach. After the dispute with the then coach Anil Kumble, he only demanded to change the coach. After this Kumble himself resigned. Then, on the advice of Kohli, the Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman appointed Shastri as the coach.

Talking to the Indian Express, a BCCI official said, "Last time Captain Kohli had mentioned Kumble and his team's problems with the team. They will not be able to do anything about this new coach this time. The final decision is to do with Kapil Dev's committee, who will not listen to Virat's one.

The decision of Kapil Dev's three-member committee on the appointment of the coach will be valid. This decision will only have to be acknowledged by every member of the team with Virat. However, in the name of the coach, the seal will apply to the COA only. In Shastri's coaching, the Indian team lost in the World Cup semi-finals.

The BCCI has sought applications for the post of Chief Coach, as well as the position of batting coach, bowling coach, fielding coach, physio, strength and conditioning coach and administrative manager. The term of the new coaching team will be from 5 September 2019 to 24 November 2021. At the same time, the Administrative Manager will be appointed for one year.
