Angelo Pereira is captain of Sri Lanka's domestic club Dondscripts Cricket Club (NCC)
Perera scored 201 in the first innings and 231 runs in the second innings against Sinhalese
Colombo Sri Lanka's domestic club, Nordescripts Cricket Club (NCC), Angelo Perera has equaled the world record by having two double hundreds in a four-day match. Pereira scored 201 in the first innings and 231 in the second innings against Sinhalese Sports Club in the first-class Premier League tournament. This is the second time in cricket history that a batsman has scored two double hundreds in the same first-class match.
Equals of England's Arthur Fag records
Before Pereira, England's Arthur Fag has also made two double centuries in a match. He scored 244 in the first innings of the match against Essex and scored 202 * in the second innings, playing English county Kent in 1938.
Perera has claimed the return of the team before the World Cup in front of Sri Lankan selectors thanks to these two double centuries. Anyway, the Sri Lankan team is struggling with its weak batting at this time. In such a situation, Pereira's form could give her some support.
Perrera's innings allrounder Pereira, against the international bowlers, played his record at the Pari Para Oval field. Among them was International bowler Dharmika Prasad and Sachitra Senanayake. Pereira has 97 first-class experiences, in which he has scored 6941 runs at an average of 47.54 with 18 centuries.
Pereira had a ODI debut from Sri Lanka in July 2013. Till now, he scored 8 runs in the 4 ODIs for the team. He got no wicket. In the same year, he played two matches (4 runs, no wicket) while debuting at T-20 International in March.
