Sports desk Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu reached the 83rd Senior National Badminton Championship quarter-finals. He defeated the Malvika Bansod of Nagpur in straight sets in the first round. Sindhu made the match 21-11, 21-13 in 35 minutes. Malvika has won gold medal in the South Asian Under-21 Championship.
Malvika made 4-0 lead
Like the previous year, the top-8 players, along with international and national ranking, got a place in the pre-quarterfinals. Malvika made a great start in the match and made a 4-0 lead but Sindhu took 11-7 lead to the first break. After that, he got his name from the first game 21-11.
