In the match, Punjab opener Shubman Gill refused to leave the field when he was out. According to media reports, Shubman misbehaved with the umpire Mohammad Rafi playing the match. The umpire then changed his decision.
According to Delhi captain Nitish Rana, the Delhi team boycotted it after the umpire changed his decision. All the players in the team had left the field and the game came to a halt. The game resumed after the intervention of match referee P Ranganathan.
Shubman could not do anything special even after being given outout by scoring 23 runs and was dismissed by 23 runs. His catch was taken by wicketkeeper Anuj Rawat off Simarjit Singh.
