The country's largest stadium will be built in Purbachal on the basis of tradition and art style. The stadium will be named as 'The Boat Sheikh Hasina International Cricket Stadium'. The construction of the stadium was officially scheduled to begin this month. But the construction of the stadium will start from next winter in the next winter.
The first meeting of the project implementation committee started today at the BCB office in Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Saturday. BCB vice-president Mahbub Anam was convened to convene a committee of the Boards of different committees, including the five-member committee. Committee members Jalal Yunus, Chairman of the committee, Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, chairman of Purchase Committee Advocate Anwar Hossain and chairman of the Disciplinary Committee Sheikh Sohel. After the meeting, it was announced that the construction of the stadium will start in the coming winter. Besides, the country's most stadium will be built within two years of starting the work.
In this context, Mahbub Anam said, "We have made an outline of how we will do this plan. Many skilled people from outside will be included. Representatives from BUET will be taken. The land in Purbachal gave us allocation at the symbolic price through the Honorable Prime Minister RAJUKK. '
BCB vice-president assured that Sheikh Hasina's international stadium is going to be a beautiful stadium in the world. "We want this stadium to be a stadium which will be one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world, not just this country," he said.
When asked about the starting of the stadium's work, the BCB official said, "The stadium work will not be started before next winter." BCB has already made the stadium drawings. It will be followed. The BCB has decided that there will be a stadium and an Academy Ground on 37 acres of land. So we get two fields. It is also being thought of what can be done without.
Whether the BCB office will be shifted from Mirpur if the stadium is built in Purbachal? Replying to a question, Mahbub Anam said, "BCB will decide later on. It is not possible to say anything about this now. But I think that this field (Sher-e-Bangla stadium) will never get needed. It's an international stadium. It will be managed in that way. '
If everything is okay, the construction of the biggest stadium in the country will be completed by 2021. BCB will bear the full cost. Sheikh Hasina will have the capacity to hold spectators at the international stadium, at least 50 thousand. The stadium will be built with Indoor Academy, Swimingpool and gymnasium. There is also a plan to build a five star hotel.
