Meerabai Chanu lifted 192 kg weight in 48 kg weight category in EGT Cup in Thailand

new Delhi. World champion Indian woman weightlifter Meerabai Chanu, after recovering from a back injury, returned to Matt six months later and won the gold medal. Chanu won this medal in the EGAT Cup held in Thailand. Chanu won the silver medal by lifting 192 kg weight in the 48 kg weight category of this silver level Olympic qualifying event.
This victory is important in the wake of the 2020 Olympics.
This victory of Chanu is important in qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics to be held in 2020. Meerabai Chanu grabbed 82 kg in snatch, while taking the top position by taking 110 kg weight in clean and jerk.
Japan's Miyake Hiromi (183 kg) won Silver and Papua New Guinea's Loya Dica (179 kg) won the bronze medal. Chanu could not take part in world championship last year due to a back injury.
World Championship was the gold level Olympic qualifying event. Chanu could not play even in the Asian Games held in Jakarta. Chanu also won gold medal in the Commonwealth Games last year at Gold Coast.
Chanu, 24, picked up 86 kilograms of snack in the Gold Coast and 110 kilograms in clean and jerk. It was the record of the games and their personal best performance.
