Manchester City's third consecutive win after a 2-year ban, beating Rial 2–1 in the first leg match
Manchester became the third English team to beat Spanish club Rial Madrid at the homeground Bernabeu Stadium

City have beaten Rial for the first time in the tournament. Earlier, 2 rials won 4 out of 4 matches between the two teams, while two matches have been draws. The previous match took place on 4 May 2016, with Riyal winning 1-0. Pep Guardiola also became the manager to win the most 28 knockout matches. He overtook Carlo Ancelotti, Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson.
The first goal in the match was scored by Ryal in the 60th minute. Then in the 78th minute, Gabriel Jesús equalized, scoring a goal. 5 minutes later, Kevin De Bruyne scored from the penalty to give the team a winning edge. Serialio Ramos of Rial got a redcard 3 minutes later.
A 2-year ban on Manchester was found guilty of a violation of the Financial Fair Play (FFP) rule on 14 February. Hence, he was fined a two-year ban on playing in the European Champions League and a fine of Rs 232 crore. Since then, the team has won 3 matches in a row.

The only goal for the team was scored by Lucas Toussart in the 31st minute.
