Singapore. Indian shuttler PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal reached the second round of women's singles at the Singapore Badminton Open. On Wednesday, Sindhu beat Indonesian Lioni Alexandra Manaki 21-9, 21-7 in straight sets. In the match, Sindhu did not have to struggle much and the match ended in 27 minutes. Meanwhile, Saina, seeded sixth, also defeated Indonesia's Yulia Yosephin 21-16, 21-11.
Silver medalist PV Sindhu will face Denmark's Mia Blischfeld in the Rio Olympics. Bronze medalist Saina's next match at the 2012 London Olympics would be from the winner of the match between Mugdha Agre and Parnavavi Chochovong.
