The first Test match during the series will be held in Rawalpindi from 11 to 15 December, while the second Test will be played from 19 to 23 December in Karachi. Both these matches will be part of the World Test Championship being played at the moment.

We are thankful to the Sri Lankan Cricket Board for agreeing to send their team for the longer format of the game. The special thing is that Sri Lanka is also the last team to play Test cricket in Pakistan. In 2009, when she came here on a tour, there was a terrorist attack on her bus in Lahore. Since then, international cricket was closed here.

According to the PCB director, this series will go a long way in PCB's efforts to ensure regular return of international cricket in the country. Recently there was T20 and ODI series
Earlier, Sri Lanka played ODI and T20 series in Pakistan in September-October. However, 10 key players of the visiting team refused to come to Pakistan due to security reasons. According to the initial schedule, Sri Lanka was to come to Pakistan in October to play the Test series, and then in December to play the limited overs series. But later it was changed, changing it.
