Dainik BhaskarDec 03, 2019, 10:16 AM IST Sports Desk. A Pakistani minister, Ali Zaidi, blamed head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis for the crushing defeat of the cricket team in Australia. According to Zaidi, it was a wrong decision to remove Sarfraz Ahmed from the captaincy. Shipping Minister Zaidi made several tweets on Monday. He also said that there is tremendous factionalism in the Pakistan team and this affects the performance of the team. The Pakistan team lost the first T20 series 2–0 on the Australian tour. After this, the difference of defeat in the two Test matches also remained the same.
First it was necessary to remain silent on Monday, Pakistan lost the second Test in Adelaide by an innings and 48 runs. He also suffered an innings and five-run defeat in the first Test played in Brisbane. Ali Zaidi is very angry with the embarrassing defeat. He said on Twitter, "At first I kept quiet because the team was selected and was going to Australia. But now it is necessary to talk honestly. Why was Sarfaraz removed from captaincy? Will PCB answer this? He took us to first place in T20. Because of that we won the Champions Trophy.
I opted to stay quiet earlier as the team had already been selected & was on its way to Australia. But in all honesty, what the heck was PCB thinking dropping @ SarfarazA_54 from the team? He single handedly lead us to be the number 1 team in T-20 plus won us the champions trophy — Ali Haider Zaidi (@AliHZaidiPTI) December 2, 2019
Groupings in teams is common but it is kept under under wraps & the leadership at PCB should address the issues at a much earlier stage. Sadly, this time they have come out in the open at the cost of Pakistan’s performance. It is time to take some tough decisions at all levels — Ali Haider Zaidi (@AliHZaidiPTI) December 2, 2019
Zaidi, responsible for Misbah and Waqar debacle, added, "Sarfaraz is our most successful captain in recent times. He twice defeated India in the ICC tournament. Everyone knows that head coach-chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis do not like him. The Pakistan team had to bear the brunt of their likes and dislikes. There is factionalism in the team. Everyone knew this. The PCB should have dealt with this problem in time. It also suffered. Now is the time when we should take strict decisions on all these matters. ”Zaidi is also considered close to Prime Minister Imran.
