New Zealand won the first ever Test series in their own history. And they have renamed the record books. There are records in India, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies.
England, Australia and India have the record of winning the most number of nine Test series. In the year 2017, New Zealand lost the three-match series 1-0 to South Africa 1-0. The Kiwis then won all five Tests in the series. Of these, four are in the country. New Zealand won the series against West Indies, England, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The other players have won against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.
Bangladesh, on the fifth and final day of the second Test in Wellington today, revived the second innings in the first session. They lost by an innings and 12 runs. In the three-match series New Zealand has so far moved in 2-0.
The first two days of the match flew in the rain. In the next three days, a little more time has been played for two days, and Bangladesh has lost in this period.
In the match, Bangladesh were bowled out for 80 runs with three wickets on the previous day and Neil Wagner and Trent Bolt's devastating bowling attack left the innings in 209 in front of the attack.
Captain Mahmudullah's half-century (67), Mohammad Mithun (47), Sadman Islam (29) and Soumya Sarkar (28) played a few innings but it was not enough to avoid the team rate. So again the innings has got to be ashamed.
Earlier, Bangladesh scored only 211 runs in the first innings. In reply, New Zealand declared their innings with 432 runs. Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholas and Kane Williamson's great batting made this huge collection of hosts. Taylor's personal third-party double century showed the way forward to the team. A 200-run innings of excellent innings before Mushfiq's dismissal came in the match. Williamson was dismissed for 74 in 105 balls. Nicholas scored 107 runs in 129 balls.
