Kami Rita Sherpa had climbed Mount Everest for the 22nd time on May 16 last year
This season, about 1000 people have climbed this peak
Kathmandu Nepal's Sherpa mountain climber, Rita Sherpa successfully climbed Mount Everest for the 23rd time on Wednesday. They are the only mountaineers who reach the world's highest peak 23 times. 49-year-old Kami is the resident of Thame village of Solukkhumbu district. Last year, on May 16, he had climbed Mount Everest for the 22nd time.
Kami mount K-2, Chou-Ou and Annapurna climbed
According to the officials of the base camp, Kami started climbing on Tuesday night. They reached the highest peak at 7 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Kami has climbed Mount Everest as well as K-2, Cho-OU, Lowe and Annapoorna.
Kami first reached this peak in 1994 at the age of 24 for the first time. He said, "They want to climb this peak at least 25 or more times." About 1000 people have climbed this peak this season.
