England will play Australia on Ashes series on home soil since August 1
Sports desk In August of this year, the Ashes Test series between Australia and England will be on the players' jersey and their names and jersey number. This will be the first time, when in Test cricket, players will have their names and numbers written on the T-shirt. In the 142-year history of Test cricket, the players are playing just plain white kits. Only the limited overs cricket i.e. in the ODI and T20, the names and jersey numbers are written on the players' kit. The Ashes is to start in England from August 1.
Ashes series being played from 1882
The Ashes is being played between the two countries from 1882. In the last year i.e., 2017, Australia won the series. This time the Ashes will be part of the ICC Test Championship. At present, use of name-numbers on test kits is for Ashes only. Names-numbers on test jerseys will be written in the form of some county cricket.
In 2003, the names of the players are being written on white jerseys in the county. The ICC is trying to increase the popularity of Test cricket. Under this, there are suggestions like no-ball free hit on the test, use of a kind ball. Test championship is also part of this, which will begin in July.
