Dainik BhaskarFeb 19, 2020, 07:18 AM IST Sports Desk. Javelin throw player Amit Dahiya said that I had not sent any other player in my place to give a sample of dope test. The four-year ban imposed on me is completely wrong. I will meet Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju and discuss this. Amit won the bronze at the National held in Sonepat in April last year. After this, another player went in place of Amit during the sample. On Monday, the NADA disciplinary committee held Amit guilty and banned him for four years.
Amit said that uncle's boy Rahul came with me during the tournament. We had not eaten anything since the day. So I sent Rahul to eat food. During this, he had an accident. I took him straight from the field to the hospital. Later I came to know that someone else went to give me a sample. But who was that. I have no idea about this. After this I was temporarily suspended in July.
Nada's team had also gone to the village for information Amit told that Nada's team had also come to my village to get information. Then I had shown the complete medical report in relation to the accident. But even after this, I was banned. My sample has not been taken yet. Meanwhile, Haryana Athletics Association general secretary Rajkumar Mitan has stated that no certificate of bronze medal will be given to the player. At the same time, Amit said that even though he has been banned, but he is busy preparing for the Senior National Championship.
