AB de Villiers of South Africa in both teams, Steve Smith only included in Test XI

He is the only Indian player to be selected in both teams. Kohli was also made the captain of the Test team. On the other hand, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has been away from international cricket for the last six months, was selected as the captain and wicketkeeper of the ODI team. Former South African player AB de Villiers was also named in both teams. He was made the wicket-keeper of the Test team.
India's Rohit Sharma was selected along with South Africa's Hashim Amla as the one-day opener. Rohit has scored 2442 runs in all three formats this year. At the same time, Australia's Steve Smith failed to make it to the ODI team. He is placed fourth in the Test team. Kohli plays at this position in the Indian team, but was ranked number five by Cricket Australia. Kohli is third in the ODI team.
