Dainik BhaskarDec 23, 2019, 05:30 PM IST Sports Desk. Mahendra Singh Dhoni completed 15 years in international cricket. He made his ODI debut against Bangladesh on 23 December 2004. Dhoni's list of fans includes the common man, politicians and film artists to big cricket giants. Former Australian captain Steve Waugh said that if I have to choose my team, I will give Dhoni the captaincy. Virat Kohli said that no one can question Dhoni's leadership.

Within three years of making his debut, Dhoni became the captain of the Indian team. Under his leadership, India won the ODI, T20 as well as the Champions Trophy. He is the only captain in the world to have won all three ICC trophies. Dhoni last played against New Zealand in the World Cup semi-final.

1. Sunil Gavaskar said- I would like to see Dhoni's last six in the World Cup final (2011) before he dies.

2. Sachin Tendulkar had said- Dhoni is the best captain in my career. I have also played under his captaincy.

3. Steve Waugh said- If I have to choose my team, I will keep Sachin Tendulkar opener. Dhoni will be the captain of the team.

4. Gary Kirsten, who was the coach of the World Cup winning Indian team, had said – If Dhoni is with me, then I can fight with anyone (team).

5. Ravi Shastri had said – When you compare veteran cricketers, then you will have Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar and Dhoni on the same rank.

6. Ian Bishop, former West Indies cricketer, said – If you need 15 runs in the last over to win the match, then the bowler will be under pressure, not Dhoni.

7. Rahul Dravid said- He (Dhoni) is an example of great leadership. Everyone praises their qualifications.

8. Kapil Dev had said- Dhoni is my hero. We talk a lot about Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, but this boy is equally capable.

9. Virat Kohli said- I cannot think of raising any kind of question on his (Dhoni) leadership.

10. Former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist said – I can pay to watch Dhoni's game. This is the best complement one player can give to another. They are Dhoni first, not the next Gilchrist.
