According to media reports, the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) on Friday agreed to hold a trial match. The decision has been conveyed to BFI President Ajay Singh through the staff in his office. Information about this will be sent to both the players soon. Lovlina Borgohain will have to be tried in the 69 kg weight category.

The meeting on Thursday was decided at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) headquarters on the trial. It included Director General Sandeep Pradhan, an official of the Ministry of Sports, two foreign coaches, Rafael Bergamasco and Santiago Niiva, along with BFI and Sai officials.
