Maharashtra's Asmi, UP's Jatin, Tripura's Priyanka won four gold each

Maharashtra's Asmi Ankush Bedade, Uttar Pradesh's Jatin Kumar Kanaujia and Tripura's Priyanka Dasgupta dominated the third Khelo India Games gymnastics to win four gold medals. Defending champions Maharashtra topped the table by winning 27 medals, including seven gold and eight silver.
On Saturday, the first day of athletics competitions, seven meet records were set and 13 golds were decided. Madhya Pradesh won three gold medals. Gujarat won three of the eight gold medals of judo. In a major reversal of archery, World Cadet Champion Komolika Bari lost in the second round of the Under-21 recurve event at the hands of Maharashtra's Sakshi Parrot.
Defending runner-up Haryana at number seven, Uttar Pradesh is second with 12 medals including six gold and Delhi is third with five medals including five gold. Gujarat is in fourth place with 10 medals including four gold. Defending runner-up Haryana is at number seven with two golds. Host Assam's gymnast Upasha Talukdar has three medals.
In the U-17, Vivek Kumar won the Javelin throw gold in the 5000 meters race for the under-21s gold medalist Ajit Kumar in the photo finish. He made a new meat record with a time of 14: 39.99. Ankita of Uttarakhand won the girls' Under-21 5000m with a new meet record of 16: 38.75. Vivek Kumar of Madhya Pradesh won the Javelin throw gold in the Under-17s. Vikrant Panchal of Haryana won the under-21 gold medal in the 400 meters.
