However, this time the board has not made its stand clear on what basis the selectors will be selected for the two vacant posts.

Last month, the tenure of senior selection committee chairman MSK Prasad and member Gagan Khoda ended. While the tenure of the current committee included Devang Gandhi, Jatin Paranjpe and Sharandeep Singh, one year remains. The BCCI had invited applications on January 18 for two vacant posts in the selection committee. Former fast bowler Ajit Agarkar and India's bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad are leading the race to become the Chief Selector.
