On Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur, he was defeated by the Hans-Christian Solberg Wittingus of Denmark in the Men's Singles. Solberg won the match 11-21, 21-18, 21-14. The match between the two lasted 49 minutes. In another match, Shubhankar Dey also lost. They were defeated by Malaysia's Liu Darren 21-15, 21-15.
In women's doubles, Pooja Dandu and Sanjana Santosh also failed to qualify in the main round. The Indian pair was defeated 21–15 21–10 by Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Rebekah Sugiarto of Indonesia. In the men's doubles, Satwikasinraj Rankereddy and Chirag Shetty were eliminated by Malaysian Ong Yoo Sin and Teo Ae Yee.
