Apart from them, former Indian women's team captain Anjum Chopra will also be given the award for the year 2019. The two former players will be honored at the BCCI's annual awards ceremony to be held in Mumbai on January 12.
According to BCCI sources, Srikanth and Anjum are being given this honor for their contribution to Indian cricket. Srikanth played for India from 1981 to 1992. During this time, he scored 2062 runs in 43 Tests with the help of two centuries and 12 half-centuries. He was also the Chairman of the Senior Selection Committee from 2009 to 2012.
Anjum scored 548 runs in 12 Tests. He scored one century and 18 half-centuries in 127 ODIs. Also played 18 international T20 matches. She was a member of the Indian team that played the final of the Women's World Cup against Australia in 2005.
