Dainik BhaskarDec 02, 2019, 11:04 AM IST Sports Desk. Karnataka have won the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament for the second time in a row. He defeated Tamil Nadu by 1 run in a thrilling contest. Karnataka scored 180 for 5 wickets in the first game. Captain Manish Pandey scored an unbeaten 60 runs. The Tamil Nadu team missed out on winning the first title and could only score 179 for 6 wickets. Had to score 3 runs to win the final ball. But the Tamil Nadu team could manage only 1 run. Ronit More took two wickets.

Tamil Nadu needed 13 runs to win in the last over. Ravichandran Ashwin hit the first two balls of Krishnappa Gautam fours but no run scored on the third ball. Ashwin took a run on the fourth ball. Vijay Shankar was run out on the fifth ball trying to take a second run. Tamil Nadu needed three runs to win on the last ball but scored one and Karnataka won the final by one run.

Aparajith scored 40 and Shankar scored 44 runs.
The final was played at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat. Baba Aparajith scored 40 for Tamil Nadu, Vijay Shankar 44, Washington Sundar 24, Captain Dinesh Karthik 20 and Ashwin scored 16 not out for Tamil Nadu in the match. While Ravichandran Ashwin and Murugan Ashwin took 2–2 wickets for the team.
