He was tested at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru on Saturday, in which he was found fit. The news agency has confirmed this by quoting sources.

Ishant suffered a right ankle injury in a Ranji Trophy match against Vidarbha on 20 January. He then went out of the ground. Later, he underwent an MRI and found that his injury was grade-3. Then Sanjay Bhardwaj, director of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), had spoken out of his New Zealand tour. He had said that Ishant has been advised to rest for 6 weeks. So they are very unlikely to go to New Zealand.

India-New Zealand practice match going on in Hamilton
The first Test between India and New Zealand will be played from 21 to 25 February while the second one will be from 29 February to 4 March. Currently, Team India is playing a three-day match in Hamilton of New Zealand-XI. On its second day on Saturday, the Kiwi team was all out for 235 runs. India had scored 263 runs on the first day. In this sense, Team India has taken a lead of 87 runs. Mohammed Shami took 3 and Jaspreet Bumrah took 2 wickets. Bumrah conceded just 18 runs, putting 3 out of 11 maidens. At the same time, by the end of the day, India scored 59 runs without losing wickets. Opener Prithvi Shaw is 35 and Mayank Agarwal is 23 not out.
