The possibility of this format coming soon in cricket starting from Test match
On Tuesday, due to rain, Rajasthan-Bengaluru had to face 5-5 over
On Tuesday against Rajasthan Royals, our match went off to rain. However this result did not help any team. The weather has given so much delay that a mini match of 5-5 overs can be started. In the RCB dressing room, when we were constantly looking forward to the match, then all were thinking about the possible new format of cricket.
While sitting in the dressing room, we discussed the format of 5 overs
The game started with a Test match. After this, it reached 60-over, then 50, 40-over T-20. The next 100 matches in England are also being used. Even T-10 cricket has been established in the UAE.
Now what is the future of the format of five over? When we were constantly raining at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, we all kept our thoughts on many options. It also came to light that the tournament structure should be kept as such. Just replace a T-20 match with five overs and try the best of three option.
There will be many benefits from this. One is that when the batsman tries to send every ball out of the field then the thrill of the competition will increase very much. If the team-A toss wins in the first five-over match, then he will opt for batting or bowling. Both teams will be able to make changes in the lineup for the second match.
In such a situation, Team B will have the right to choose from alternating batting or bowling in the naturally before. If the match gets equal to one-by-one, then the third toss will be a new toss in the third and final match. It can be fun. Maybe one day a cricket board of some country can get time and calender for this five-over format.
