Mohali Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has been fined 12 lakhs. Rohit has been fined for the slow over-rate in the match played against Kings XI Punjab in the IPL on 30 March. In this match, Punjab defeated Mumbai by 8 wickets. After the defeat, match referee Vengalil Narayan Kutty punished Rohit for slow over-rate and fined him.

According to the statement of the Indian Premier League (IPL), "Since his team violated the rule of the slow over-rate for the first time in this season under the IPL Code of Conduct, Rohit Sharma was fined 12 lakh rupees." This is the first case in the IPL season when a team or its captain has been penalized for slow over-rate.
