The first match of the three T20 matches series between India and West Indies will be played on Friday 6 December at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. Both teams have reached here and are engaged in practice. Virat Kohli was not part of the team in the T20 series against Bangladesh. In this format, he will return against the Windies. Shikhar Dhawan is not part of the team due to injury. In his place, Kerala wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson has been given a chance. However, he is less likely to play in the first match.

On the other hand, the West Indian youth team would like to prove themselves once again in this format. Kieron Pollard is the captain and has enough experience in Indian pitches and conditions.
