Five Indian shuttlers in the tournament were successful in reaching semifinals

new Delhi. Five shuttlers of India have reached the semi-finals in the India Open badminton tournament being played at KD Jadhav Indoor Hall here. Olympic silver medalists PV Sindhu Woman's singles, Kidambi Srikanth and Parupalli Kashyap were successful in reaching the men's singles, while the duo of Manu Attri and B. Sumit Reddy made it to the semi-finals of Mens Doubles.
HS romance quarter finals lose, campaign ends
Campaign ended in another Indian shuttler HS Prannoy's tournament. Prannoy suffered a 10-21, 16-21 defeat in the quarter-finals by Victor Axelsen of Denmark.
Sindhu defeated Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark 21-19, 22-20 in women's quarter-finals Blichfeldt's current world ranking is 22, while Sindhu has 6.
Now in the semi-finals, Sindhu will face third-seeded China from Bingjiiao. Bingijiao is the world's 7th female shuttle at this time.
Bingjio and Sindhu have been face-to-face on 13 occasions till now. Of these, Bingjio 8, while Sindhu has managed to win 5 times.
The last time was the clash between the two on November 9 last year. Then Bingijiao won 21-17, 17-21, 21-15 against the Indian shuttle.
World number seven Kidambi Srikanth defeated compatriot B Sai Praneeth 21-23, 21-11, 21-19 in an hour and two minutes in the best form in Men's Singles.
Now in the semi-finals Srikanth will face Huang Yuziang of China. There have been four matches between Huang and Srikanth so far. Of these, Kidambi has managed to win three.
In another quarter-finals, Kashyap defeated Wang Zui Wei of Chinese Taipei 21-16, 21-11. Kashyap has reached the final of the tournament in the Super Series-level tournament after Indonesia Open in 2015.
Kashyap will now face Victor Axelsen in the semi-finals. Between the world's 55th number of shuttler Kashyap and Victor, there have been two encounters so far. Kashyap has succeeded in winning both of them.
