Its purpose is to keep the World Cup free of any kind of corruption
These officers will be associated with every team from warm-up matches
Sports desk In England and Wales, there will be an Anti Corruption Officer with every team in the Cricket World Cup to be held from May 30. The officer was appointed by the ICC. This is the first time that the ICC is making such arrangements for a tournament. The purpose of this is to keep the World Cup free of any kind of corruption, fixing or speculators. So far, the ICC used Anti-Corruption Officers on every match venue in this multi-nation tournament. That is, wherever the team goes to play, they had to co-ordinate with the new officer.
This caused both the team and the officer the problem. That's why now the entire tournament will be the same officer, he too along with the team. These officers will be associated with every team from warm-up matches. The ICC says that when the entire tournament will be the same officer with the team, the players will be able to openly talk to him. At the same time, the officer will also be able to understand any suspicious activity.
