A post made on Wednesday from his Instagram account revealed the demise. According to this, Charulata breathed her last at 5.30 pm on 13 January. The BCCI paid tribute to him on Thursday. Charulata arrived to watch the Indian team's match in a wheelchair at the World Cup in England. When Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma came to meet him, he had blessed them both.

Charulata also reached the 1983 World Cup final
