She defeated Ukraine's Maria Yulitina 21–10, 21–19 in straight sets in the pre-quarterfinal match held on Thursday. Now they will take on third seed Thailand's Busanan Ongbaumrungfan in the quarter-finals. At the same time, Kidambi Srikanth, the third seed in the men's singles, was eliminated from the tournament. He was beaten by compatriot Ajay Jayaram 6-21, 17-21. Jayaram will face France's Thomas Roxel in the quarter-finals.
