India's Arjun Hhalakurki won the bronze in the 55 kg weight category of the Greco Roman category
Dainik BhaskarFeb 18, 2020, 09:21 PM IST Sports Desk. The first day of the Asian Wrestling Championship started in Delhi on Tuesday for India. Sunil Kumar won gold for the country in the Greco Roman category after 27 years. He defeated Ajat Salidinov of Kyrgyzstan 5–0 in the 87 kg weight category.
Earlier, he defeated Ajamat Kustubayev of Kazakhstan in a struggling match in the semi-finals. At one time, Sunil was trailing 1-8. But he made a brilliant comeback, scoring 11 consecutive points and winning the match 12–8.

Sunil won silver last year
Last year too, this Indian wrestler made it to the finals of the Asian Wrestling Championship in China. But then he was defeated by Hussein Ahmed Nouri of Iran. Even then he defeated Ajamat Kustubayev of Kazakhstan in the semi-finals. Apart from Sunil, on Tuesday, Arjun Hallakurki won bronze in the 55 kg weight category of Greco Roman category. He went to the Senior National Championship for the first time and won the medal in the first time.
