Indian pair broke the record of Russia's Vitalina and Artham by making 784 points in qualification
Taipei (Taiwan) Indian shooter Manu Bhakra and Saurabh Chaudhary won the gold medal of the 10 meter air pistol mixed team event in the 12th Asian Airgun Championship in Taoyuan, here. The Indian pair secured first place in the finals of five teams with 484.8 points. Earlier in the qualification, 17 years old Manu and 16-year-old Saurabh together scored 784 marks. This is a new world record of qualification.
World records of finals and qualifications in junior category have already been named as Manu-Saurabh
Manu and Saurabh broke the record of Russia's Vitalina breaking the record of Kusina and Artham Chernosova. Vitalina and Artem made the world record on March 22 in the European Championship. Then they got 782 points.
Manu Bhake and Saurabh Chaudhary have already made their names in the 10 meter Air Pistol Mixed Team Event Junior Class Final and Qualification World Record.
Manu and Saurabh had won gold medal in the 10 meter air pistol mixed team event in the ISSF Shooting World Cup held in Delhi a month ago.
In the event, Korea's Huang Xiongun and Kim Moghoy won the bronze with a score of 481.1 points and Chia Ying and Ko Kuan Ting of Taipei 413.3.
According to the Indian National Rifle Federation (NRAI), another Indian couple, Anuradha and Abhishek Verma, who took part in the event, also made the final in the finals, but they remained at fourth with a score of 372.1.
