Vijayvir Sidhu lost in shootout, brilliantly satisfied Santosh
Another Indian shooter Arjun Singh Cheema finished fourth
Taipei (Taiwan) Indian shooter Sarabjit Singh named the junior men's 10 meter air pistol gold medal of Asian Air Gun Championship here. He scored 237.8 points in the final. Sarabjit was topped with qualification score of 579 Vijayvir Sidhu stood third with 217.5 points. They had to be satisfied with the bronze medal.
Kim Wuzong of Korea wins silver medal
Three Indian shooters landed in this event. All three were successful in qualifying, but Arjun Singh missed the Cheema medal. He secured fourth place after getting 195.8 points.
Kim Wuzong of Korea scored 236.6. He got the silver medal. Sarabjit and Kim scored a score of 48.8-48.8 in the first round of the first stage.
In the second round, Sarabjit scored 100.2, while Kim managed to score 99.3 points. Vijayvir was able to score 49.9 in the first round of the first stage.
In the second round, Vijayvir scored 99.5 and maintained his lead against Kim in the first stage. By the sixth round of the second stage, Kim and Vijayvir were at par with the score of 217.5-217.5.
This is followed by a shootout for the third place. Vijayavir missed it and he had to satisfy the bronze medal. By the sixth round of second stage, Sarabjit's score was 218.3.
