Birmingham. In the All England badminton championship, India's Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth have made it to the quarter-finals. Saina defeated Denmark's line Zarffeld 8-21, 21-16, 21-13. The match lasted 51 minutes. Saina has won for the third time against Jarffeld. Saina has been successful in making the place in the last-8 of the tournament for the 9th time. Saina can now fight against Tai Xu Ying of No. 1 in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth beat Indonesia's Christopher Kristi 21-17, 11-21, 21-12. Srikanth will play for the first time in the quarter-finals. They will now face number 1 Japan's Canto Momota.
In the other men's singles, B Sai Praneeth got out of the tournament after losing his match. Praneeth defeated Long Angus of Hong Kong 21-12, 21-17.
In the women's doubles, India's Ashwini Ponnappa-N Sikki Reddy got the better of Japan's Shiho Tanaka-Koharu Yonomoto 21-16, 26-28, 16-21 by a pair.
Earlier, Saina had made it to the pre-quarterfinals of the first round of women's singles by beating Scotland's Christie Gilmour 21-17, 21-18. In the first round of Men's Singles, Kidambi was defeated by France's Brice Lavardez 21-13, 21-11.
